BNP Paribas increases profit more than expected

PARIS (dpa-AFX) – The major French bank BNP Paribas has earned more thanks to good deals with shares and private customers. Profits increased more than experts had expected. The surplus climbed by a good nine percent to almost 3.2 billion euros, the EuroStoxx 50 in the eurozone selection index announced on Friday in Paris. Income increased by 8.5 percent to around 12.8 billion euros./zb/jha/
