Sandu expressed confidence that threats from the Russian Federation to the region will not go away in the near future
If the Russian aggressors succeeded in their plan to occupation south of Ukraine, then a few days later Russian troops would be in Chisinau.
This was stated by the President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, during a panel discussion at the Davos Economic Forum. transmits correspondent of Ukrinform.
At the same time, she does not see that the military threat to her country is greater today than in the spring of last year.
“Everyone knew that if Ukraine did not fight, the Russians would be in Chisinau in a few days,” Sandu said.
At the same time, according to Sandu, Moldova is taking steps to improve its own defense and strengthen the country’s defense sector.
We will remind, earlier the former Minister of Defense Romania’s Vasile Dincu said that Russia is attacking Moldova from the inside.
In addition, we previously informed that the head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Alexandru Mustiace, stated that Russia plans to invade Moldova in 2023. According to him, the implementation of this scenario depends on the development of the war in Ukraine.
