LEIPZIG (dpa-AFX) – The MDR manager Ralf Ludwig is a candidate for the post of director at Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR). The board of directors at the ARD broadcaster unanimously proposes the personnel to the broadcasting council as the second control body, as the committee office announced on Friday. The 54-year-old has been administrative director at the station since 2015 and thus holds one of the highest positions there. The business graduate has held various positions for the public MDR since 1999.
The election of the artistic director must take place by the end of April at the latest. The MDR state contract stipulates that the Broadcasting Council elects an artistic director for a period of six years at the suggestion of the administrative board.
