Moravetskyi explained that the strength of the nation must be taken into account.
Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moravetskyi said that Russia is trying to convince that Ukraine as an independent state should not exist, but the Ukrainian nation wants freedom and courageously resists the invaders.
The head of the Polish government wrote about this in the column for Wszystko co most importantcomparing the histories of independence of Ukraine and Poland.
Morawiecki noted that in the history of Poland’s struggle for independence “there is a striking similarity with the struggle that Ukraine is waging against Russia today.”
“Putin’s propaganda also tries to prove that Ukraine as an independent state should not exist, and the Ukrainian nation itself does not exist,” writes the Polish Prime Minister.
He also noted that on February 24, 2022, “no one gave Ukraine a chance to win, its fate seemed predetermined” – “but it happened differently”:
“The fate of Poland and Ukraine proves that history is not a trap from which it is impossible to escape, and even the strongest state must consider the strength of a nation that wants freedom“.
Morawiecki concluded that Poland, as the leader of NATO’s eastern flank, protects the entire Alliance. He assured that the West can count on Poland.
We will remind you that on October 26, the Senate of Poland adopted a resolution on recognition of the Russian authorities as a terrorist regime. 85 out of 100 members of the Senate voted for the resolution.
