People’s deputy, head of the parliamentary faction “Servant of the People” David Arahamia announced the appointment of a new prosecutor general in the coming days.
“In the next 10 days we will be expecting the appointment of a new Attorney General. His first and foremost task will be the appointment of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, as requested by the President of Ukraine”, the parliamentarian said in his telegram.
He asked the competition committee for the appointment of the head of the SAP to complete all the necessary procedures during this period, so that “there would not be any delays in this matter”.

The competition committee on 19 April approved Oleksandr Klymenok as the head of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
On 19 January, the Verkhovna Rada upheld President Volodymyr Zelensky’s motion to dismiss Iryna Venediktova from the position of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
On June 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Irina Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General. Another decree put Oleksiy Symonenok in charge of the Prosecutor General’s duties.
