A battalion-tactical group of Russian airborne troops has been transferred to the occupied Crimea after the renewal, and they plan to send them to the Russian war against Ukraine, said Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, in Comments on the project by Radio Liberty Krym.Realii.
“We know that a battalion-tactical group of airborne troops has now gone in after its renewal – it has gone into Crimea and after that it will withdraw to the territory of the Ukrainian peninsula. There is also constant movement there. They have strengthened the anti-aircraft defense system (ADS). They understand that there is a threat”, Skibitskyy said.
According to his data, missiles for S-300 and S-400 air defense systems are being flown to the Crimea.
“Military intelligence constantly monitors everything related to the air space of the occupied territories, the Crimean Peninsula, the Black Sea. That is why it is not a threat to us. The first threat is the use of tactical army aviation. Vans of military purpose are constantly being transported to the Crimean peninsula. Therefore, transporters in the Crimea are not a novelty for us, because the same missiles for the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems are being transported. Other military materiel is being moved. Special equipment is being moved,” said the SMM representative.
Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine
On 24 February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine on the ground and in the air along the entire length of the joint cordon. The territory of Belarus was used for the invasion of Kyiv region with the intention to take the capital. In the east, the Russian army mainly occupied parts of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, and in the north – the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin calls the full-scale invasion a “special operation.” Initially, the goal of the invasion was “demilitarization and denationalization,” later “protection of Donbas.
The Russian authorities claim that the army does not attack civilian objects. However, the Russian air force, missile forces, navy and artillery shell Ukrainian cities every day. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine are destroyed.
As of mid-Lepin, Ukraine estimated Russia’s losses in the war at more than 38,000 troops. The Kremlin does not release figures on the number of people killed during the invasion, but admits that the losses are “significant”. In early June, President Zelensky estimated the ratio of losses between Ukraine and Russia as one to five.
Having failed to meet the ZSU operation, the Russian units withdrew from the territory of the Kiev, Chernigov, and Sumy regions at the beginning of September.
After the displacement of Kyiv region from the Russian forces in the cities of Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel and the villages of the region the facts of mass murders, reprisals and torture of civilians, including children, were revealed. The Ukrainian authorities have stated that Russia is committing genocide. The countries of the West are taking part in confirming the facts of the massacres. The Russian Federation dismisses accusations of war crimes, and calls the killings in Buchi a “staged action.
Later, the facts of reprisals and murders of Ukrainian citizens began to emerge not in all the settlements that were under Russian occupation.
The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights as of 24:00 on 26 June was able to confirm 4,731 deaths, 5,900 injuries of civilians in Ukraine through a full-scale war launched by Russia. At the same time, the organization said that the real figures are much higher.
