BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – Union parliamentary group leader Jens Spahn has warned of the failure of the energy price brakes for companies. The CDU politician said on Monday in Berlin that he was concerned that companies would make significantly less use of the price brakes. Spahn referred to difficult application conditions. He is concerned that the price brakes will not work for the economy. This could further weaken Germany’s international competitiveness.
The gas and heat price brake has been in effect for large consumers since January, for private households and small companies from March – with retrospective relief for the months of January and February. According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, special regulations and notification requirements apply to companies with high energy costs
