The Transcarpathian secretly boarded a minibus going to Slovakia while the rest of the passengers were going through passport control.
At the “Malyy Berezny” checkpoint, the ferry driver immediately handed over the boarded-up passenger, having just noticed the approach of the border guards.
A 31-year-old resident of Transcarpathia wanted to cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border out of control. The offender arrived at the checkpoint on foot. He sneaked into a minibus going to Slovakia while the rest of the passengers were going through passport control.
About this it is said in the notification of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The border guards established that the offender met the driver at the gas station before the checkpoint, where they agreed on a plan for further actions. According to the plan, the evader had to wait for the completion of control procedures and get into the minibus together with other passengers.
“Everything went according to plan, but when the border guards approached the bus, the driver of the vehicle chased the evader away, ran to the law enforcement officers and pointed at the participant of the arrangement, for which, by the way, he was supposed to receive 4 thousand hryvnias,” the State Border Service said.
An investigative team of the National Police was called to the scene. The driver and the “inventive” pseudo-passenger had to replace the trip to Slovakia with a “trip” to the district police department.
The border guards sent a notice to the Uzhgorod district branch of the NPU about the discovery in the actions of the Transcarpathian of signs of a criminal offense provided for in Article 336 of the Criminal Code “Evasion of conscription for mobilization”.
Also, after establishing all the circumstances, the petitioner will be held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.”
As for the driver, his actions show signs of a criminal offense provided for in Art. 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
We will remind, in Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers detained a group of 10 men of military age who tried to illegally cross the border with Hungary in the area of the village of Vylok of the Berehiv district.
