The United States and the European Union have declared their support for Ukraine as long as necessary.
“The United States and the European Union have taken a strong and unified position against Russia’s illegal, unjustified and unprovoked war against Ukraine. We, along with a broad coalition of partners, have imposed swift and sweeping sanctions that reduce Russia’s revenues to finance its war and its military-industrial base. We stand together in our steadfast support of Ukraine for as long as it takes,” the joint statement said.
The US and the EU promise to continue working together to “strengthen economic restrictions to ensure that Russia’s spending on its illegal war continues to rise.”
As noted in the statement, the United States and the European Union are working to ensure that Ukraine has the necessary security, economic and humanitarian support for as long as it is needed.
US President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen held a meeting at the White House on March 10.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, both the United States and the European Union have supported Ukraine by providing military and financial aid.
