Chancellor Olaf Scholz is currently discussing this issue with Joe Biden
The new head of the Ministry of Defense of Germany, Boris Pistorius, said that there is no need to tie up the supply of German weapons tanks Leopard 2 with the provision of American combat vehicles M1 Abrams.
Pistorius said this in an interview with the TV channel ARD.
“I don’t know anything about such a relationship,” he said.
When asked whether Germany could supply tanks to Ukraine without the US, he said that Chancellor Olaf Scholz is currently discussing this issue with Joe Biden.
“I am absolutely sure that we will receive a decision on this issue in the next few days. But today I cannot tell you what it will look like,” he said.
It will be recalled that earlier military analyst, Colonel Petro Chernyk stated that the provision of military aid to Ukraine creates prerequisites for so that the Armed Forces could organize serious counteroffensive operations.
