Since February, 28,000 volunteers have already submitted applications to participate in the “Offensive Guard”, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, said on the air of the telethon.
“First of all, the applications went through the Centers for the provision of administrative services and through the corresponding website. Of course, not everyone gets into these divisions, because the selection is tough enough. We have already started the training of almost all units at the training grounds of our country, and not all of them can survive there,” Klymenko emphasized.
The Minister also noted that the training will continue as long as it is necessary to obtain combat-ready units of the National Guard, DPSU and National Police, all of which are now called the “Offensive Guard”.
According to him, the divisions have actually been formed.
“The units are mostly already formed and today we are recruiting additional volunteers in order to have a reserve for the future,” added Klymenko.
On February 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs began the formation of assault brigades “Offensive Guard“, which volunteers can become a part of. You can join the “Offensive Guard” by submitting a questionnaire on the site storm.mvs.gov.ua or at the Centers for the provision of administrative services. You can join such brigades of the National Guard “Bureviy”, “Chervon Kalina”, “Kara-Dag”, “Rubizh”, “Spartan”, “Azov”, the brigade of the National Police “Lyut” and the brigade of the State Border Service “Stalevy Kordon”.
At the beginning of February, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that, in total, more than eight thousand volunteers applied for the “Offensive Guard” at that time.
